Stop, Look and Listen

When you find another one. Who is THE one?

Some vacation this turned out to be.

My car door slammed behind me and I turned the key. I can hear George calling my name as he ran into the street behind my car, waving his arms. The white flower in his lapel fell to the ground and he crushed it while he jumped up and down, screaming for me to stop.

I put my foot down instead, fumbling for my phone. How could he do this? Why would he do this? Why would he invite me here if he's marrying someone else? Was it just to rub it in my face? Could someone be so cruel? I thought he was nice. I thought he was a good guy, but now I see how horrible he really is... And how good a man Marcus is... He would don't this to me. He wouldn't treat me like this. No, he never would. What am I doing with this George guy. Marcus has always loved me, has always been devoted to me. Sure, he can be a little intense, but he'd never screw me over like this. He'd never hurt me like this. Hah, hurt me. God, if he ever finds out that George did this to me, I don't know what he'd do. He'd probably... No, I can't think like that. Marcus has always had a temper. I mean, never against me - no he'd never think to touch me like that, but if someone hurt me. Phew, I don't even want to think about it.

My phone is ringing before I know what's happening.

"Sam?" Marcus says sharply. "What's wrong?"

"Why do you think something's wrong?"

"Because you don't call me unless there is. What's going on?"

"Nothing. I just want to see you."

I hear him grin. "Where?"
