Quick Format Vs Full Format :- When a storage device such as a USB memory or HDD / SSD is connected to a computer for the first time, it cannot be used unless it is formatted. This article explains the meaning of “formatting“.

Format is a personal computer term that means “initialize the data on the storage medium (USB memory in this case)”. To put it in detail, it is “to arrange the data arrangement format in the USB memory”, but there is no problem with the recognition that it is simply “initialize”.

If you get the message “Formatting is required” when you try to use a USB memory, you need to format the USB memory.

However, if you format it, the contents of the USB memory will be initialized, that is, all will be erased, so be careful.

For the format, select one of the file systems (data array format) of “fat32”, “ntfs”, and “exFat”, but there are differences in the file system such as the OS that can be used and the limit of the data capacity. Let’s take a closer look at this file system.
There are two types of Format, i.e. Quick Format Vs Full Format.
What is Quick Format?
Only formatting is done, no check disk or zero fill (erasing).

Zero fill is not performed in quick format and full format before XP. Therefore, it is possible to restore with data restoration software except for the part that was overwritten later.

Benefits of quick format
As mentioned above, Quick Format formats your hard disk without searching for bad sectors, which saves a lot of time. Also, many users refresh their hard disk state through formatting, so quick formatting is sufficient for this purpose.

However, if there

are bad sectors on your hard drive, if you perform a normal format, the formatting will start after a process like “CHKDSK” that scans and repairs the bad sectors during the formatting process. Unless you have revealed that your hard disk has bad sectors, it seems that quick format is better.

What is Full Format?
In addition to formatting work, check disk is performed on old Windows before XP, and zero fill (erase) is performed on Windows after Vista.

Can I undo the quick format of the disc?
Many computer users have experienced quick formatting of wrong discs and losing files. When you reinstall the Windows operating system, there are various data loss situations such as you did a quick format on the wrong HDD, or you noticed that there are important files on the HDD after the quick format.

Files lost by quick format may be recovered. The reason is that the quick format is an operation that changes the way Windows reads the HDD by destroying the FAT and rewriting the boot sector

without erasing the data, leaving the data still in its original location. Because there is.
