The Syo Chronicles

A girl, three guys, two dark forces.

Three monsters, freaks, whatever it is that you want to call them, were walking across the sky. I prefer to call them “fallen angels”.
One was a “life angel”, as it was called. Life, amazing life, was so dear, and he was the only one of his kind, This power had been inherited from his father, and his father before him. He was the only one, now, to have this power. He, of course, being the most powerful, was in the front of the mighty procession.
The next one, “Stolen Wings” as her friends called her, was on the left. She was walking with her head up high, trying to forget the recent drama. In truth, that was all it was. By her friend’s standards, she was a genius in reason. She thought about things before taking action, and usually, her plans worked. It was this last time that had hurt the most. She was an “air angel”, or a former one to be exact.
The last Fallen One was walking on the right. He was a younger one, and he had committed no crime. He was with them because he had chosen

to go with them. His heart ached, yes, for the life he had once known, but he knew that he was doing the right thing. He was a “Fire Angel”, still and unfailing.
Together, they formed a perfect triangle. Three monsters, freaks, whatever it is you want to call them, were walking across the sky…
OK, they asked me to write a documentary on what happened last year, and I was like," Sure!" I had no idea where to start, so I started here. My name is Syo Tanaka, and this is me.
“Stupid!” I could hear them calling. I was shoved onto my back, and I could hear their mocking laughter. “Get up, why don’t you? If you can!”
I tried to get up, I did. They weren’t going to make a fool out of me that easily. I felt a foot push me back down, and then I laid there, absolutely stunned.
They had beaten me. Again.
“Ha! She can’t! Weak!” I could hear them taunt. I stared at the ceiling.
“HEY! Stop it! Leave her alone!”I could hear someone yell from the end of the hallway. Or the general direction of such.

That was unusual. No one ever stood up for me.
Breathe. Don’t show pain. Breathe…
I could hear their receding footsteps and his advancing ones. He was at my side in seconds. Maybe he had ran…
“Are you alright?” He asked. Or it sounded like he. I couldn’t see it. My eyes...my head…
It all hurt.
“Oh, no...Um...do you want me to get the nurse?” he asked, and I shook my head. If he left, they would come back.
Don’t show pain, Syo. Don’t show it...
I nodded my head, much against my will. As much as I hated it, I needed a nurse.
In mere seconds, or maybe time sped up, he was back with the nurse. I wasn’t sure. I had no watch, and I couldn’t see anything. My eyes refused to focus.
“Syo, are you ok?” the nurse, Mrs. Joy, asked.
Joy. That's definitely what I feel right now…
“Syo? SYO!?”
Everything went black. I could still hear sounds, like Mrs. Joy, screaming at the boy to go get help. I could also hear his frightened voice as he called 911. I could hear the sirens, screaming at everyone

that there was an emergency.
I remember thinking, I wonder if they feel bad?
Then, everything went silent.
*****
“Syo? Honey? Are you OK?” was the first thing I heard when I woke up. Everything was white. Walls, the thing I was laying on at the moment, the sheets. Everything.
My head was pounding. I raised my hands to touch my forehead, somehow make it stop. My arms were immediately tangled in wires.
“Mom?” I asked. “Help?”
“Good, she remembers you.” I could hear someone begin speaking, but I wasn’t listening. I was thinking.
Why am I here Why wouldn’t I remember my mom? Where is that kid who helped? How long was I out? Is he here?
“Syo?” I could hear someone say. I looked around. My eyes, finally, had begun to adjust to the bright lights. I could make out two people sitting in chairs on the left, and another person standing on my right.
“Where am I?” I asked. That was currently the question on the very top of the list.
“You’re at the hospital. You passed out."
